Miss Smartie Pants

I cannot believe how much Harper has learned in the past few weeks. She really likes to point to noses, eyes, and her tummy and say the words. She points at everything now. Tal gets a real kick out of asking her questions because if you ask her where someone or something is, she will point all over the place. It is pretty funny. She still adores books and will come and plop down in your lap with a book ready to be read to.

She is also really in to climbing in to, under, and on to things. She loves to sit on our bookshelves, crawl in to the laundry basket and have Daddy push her around the house, and sit in this tiny diaper basket. She manages to squeeze in there every time though. Crawling under the dining room table and chairs is always a fun adventure too!

She got some really awesome toys, books, and clothes for Christmas. She loves her new shape sorter and blocks and her new baby stroller from Gigi. She pushes it all around the house. It is pretty stinkin cute watching her push her baby (bubee) around the house. I even found a tiny blanket one of my students made for her last year and she wraps her baby in it. Grandpa Mitch and Grandma Mary got her a rocking horse that plays music and talks to her. She is still getting used to rocking on it but she loves the sounds. Nothing compares to her Owlie security blanket though. She LOVES Owlie!

Speaking of Smartie Pants...my daughter is kind of a little rascal sometimes. She is very active, which you all know by now, but she can be so feisty too. Like screaming and throwing a tantrum on the floor when things don't go her way, or going in to limp baby mode when she doesn't want to be carried or put in to a shopping cart of stroller or high chair. She has even been biting and hitting when she gets really tired. The poor kids at daycare of felt the wrath of Harper Lily. I love my girl to death, but boy, she can sure test our patience sometimes! I am hoping that as she learns to communicate better the attitude will lessen, we'll see though. Can't imagine what the terrible two's will be like with this one. Yikes!

Here are some adorable pictures of our girl:

We had a pretty nice snow strom this month and these are pictures of Harper playing in the snow. She didn't like to touch it, but sure loved stomping in it.

Pointing!

Scooting around in the laundry basket with Daddy pushing. Great fun!

She sure did love the Christmas tree this year.

Here is Harper with Uncle Ryan (my brother).

Family Christmas photo on Christmas Eve. Here is one my pregnant sisters, Alisha. She is due at the beginning of February. My other sister, Taylr, is due in just about a week. Taylr is having a girl, Eden, and Alisha is having a boy, Colten. We can't wait to meet our new family members!

 I love our family photo!

Eating macaroni and cheese with Great Uncle Kevin (my mom's brother).

She found a box to scoot around in!

This girl loves her Gigi (my mom). She only wanted Gigi most of the time we were visiting.

New monkey security blanket made by Great-grandma Lane. She crocheted the most beautiful Christmas gifts this year. They were amazing!

Grandma Lane made Harper and I matching hooded scarves. We look so cute!

Christmas Eve pajamas. Having a bottle before Santa visits.

I cleaned out this little storage closet under our stairs put her toys in there. She thinks it is pretty cool having her own hide out.

We had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. I felt so blessed and grateful for such an awesome holiday. We wish you all a happy and healthy new year. Happy 2014 everyone!

More Fall Fun

It has been a while since my last post, sorry everyone! Tal started coaching Varsity basketball again a few weeks ago and so a lot of the day to day things are now left to just me. Needless to say, I have been one busy girl. Harper has also been a busy, little squirrel. She loves to walk/run around the house, pushing her little cart around. After school we walk Goldie together and she just giggles with joy running up and down the sidewalk as I chase her and Goldie around.

We put up our Christmas tree just after Thanksgiving and thank goodness I bought some plastic Christmas balls this year. She loves to take them off of the tree and dribble them. Same with Daddy's basketballs he brings home. Tal is so proud of his little girl that she loves to play with the basketballs.

Harper has really gotten in to talking. Some of her favorite words are Mama, Dada, Poo (Poodle for Goldie), bye bye, hi, nana (banana), baby (she is obsessed with baby dolls), bath, and Hoppa. She even learned to call my mom Gigi. It was so adorable. We call my mom's dog Bruiser (his name is Bruce) and Harper loves to whisper Bruiser all of the time now. I get a real kick out of singing Old MacDonald to her because she mimics the e-i-e-i-o part. It is hilarious!

Harper came down with a really nasty cold last week. She had an ear infection, eye infection, and very clogged sinuses. We spent some time at the doctor one evening and then took Goldie to the vet (she had a bladder infection), then had to spend almost an hour at the pharmacy getting her antibiotics and eye drops. By the time we left Harper was in full melt down mode (Mommy was too if I have to be honest.)

I am loving watching Harper discover all of the Christmas delights that I enjoy too. For example, watching A Charlie Brown Christmas and singing Christmas songs together. Whenever the Hershey's Kisses commercial comes on (the one with the kisses as bells) Harper stops what she is doing immediately and is totally mesmerized by it. So adorable!

Here are some more pictures of our cutie!

Harper is wearing my old shirt from the 80's in this picture and playing with one of her favorite "toys," the remote.

This little coat was given to us by our friends The Rowswells, it is so cute! Thank you!

Here is Harper trick-or-treating for the first time. She was a strawberry, and a very adorable one if I might add.

Harper is playing with her little, wooden Menorah from Grandma Jinny. She loves it!

I wish this picture would have turned out, she looks so sweet in it. Stupid camera!

Christmas card try. It came out blurry though. She is wearing a little Christmas apron from Grandma Jinny (Tal's mom).

Fall Fun

Life sure has been busy around our house lately. I am absolutely loving the gorgeous fall weather we have been having. Harper and I love to go to the park after school and take her little Radio Flyer trike for a spin. With Halloween just around the corner, this is one happy girl. I have been dressing Harper in all of her adorable little Halloween outfits too.

I got in a baking mood today and made caramel apple crisp and sweet potato cranberry muffins. I just can't get enough candy corn either!

Here are some pictures of our fun times so far this fall...

Here we are at Black Butte for a quick weekend trip. Harper loved spending time with her cousins Alex and Jesse.

Tal and I dressed as Jack and Jill after the hill for our Halloween party this year.

Party time!

Here I am with one of my best friends. We've known each other since back in the day in Mr. Vernon's class at Tumwater High School. Lookin good Kressi!

Here are the ladies. Mom, me, Kressi, April, and Adriana.

We took Harper to the pumpkin patch this past weekend. She loved seeing everything that was going on. She got so mad though when we would pick her up. Now that she walks everywhere, she was not happy being carried around.

Finally! She was free from Daddy's grip.

She tried to pick up all of the pumpkins. Must be like Mommy, this girl is going to love Halloween too!

I took this picture with my camera upside down as we were walking together, her expression is just too stinkin cute!

Upset here...she couldn't hold all of the pumpkins and walk at the same time. The toddler attitude is really starting to come out in our little one.

Mmmm...dirt!

Riding the tractors.

Harper is just such a character. She loves shaking her head no at everything we ask her. She also loves to say and wave bye bye, say uh oh, owl, and of course, Mama. She loves to play with electronics like the TV, remotes, cell phones, and the CD player at daycare. Sundays she goes to open gym with Daddy and has a ball chasing the basketballs around and hanging out with the high school girls. She still has a huge appetite and loves her fruits and veggies. I can't believe we have a 13 month old now. She is so much fun to watch.

HAPPY FALL EVERYONE!
